18th June 2008 Windsurfing: Ynyslas Wind Direction: SW Wind Stength: 15-30 knots Surf / Sea State: 2-3 foot messy surf Air Temperature: 15ºC Sea Temperature: 15ºC Weather: Rainy Max Speed: Distance Covered: Started off just about powered with the 5.6m and Naish Hybrid Freewave. First run I managed to get going out the back, but after that the wind dropped off and I sank and had a couple of little swims followed by walks back upwind. Shem was just about powered with his 11m kite, but even that wasn't great. Shem then starting packing up just as the wind filled in. Next few runs were perfect, well powered and blasting along with lots of nice jumps. Then the wind went mad and I was overpowered for a while and contemplated changing down to a 5m but I thought it would probably drop off again so hung on for a while. The wind did ease back off to a perfect level for a while then dropped off again so I decided enough was enough. 1-2 stars to start with, 4 stars later so 3 overall! |
